Learning British Sign Language Part 2
Learning British Sign Language is a very fun experience, I am learning aspects of it that I never knew before and I am really enjoying it so far!
As well as using the book and DVD, I have been watching YouTube videos of people having conversations using BSL. That also helps me understand how they use facial expressions.
Using the book yesterday, I learned how to ask and answer different types of questions. Something that is quite important is raising or lowering your eyebrows, as well as shaking or nodding your head. This would indicate if you're asking a question, answering or just saying a statement.
English is so different to sign language; another example of what I have learned is the 'wh' questions (like where, what, will, why, when, who, which or how) is always put at the end of a sentence. An example of this is shopping when? Instead of "When are you going shopping?".
Next time I will be practicing finger spelling- I will have various ways of learning/revising this.
